So the other day I dl a windows update on my vista laptop, and after it wouldn't turn on properly.

I did the only option available to me (some system restore backup thing on startup repair) and I chose to backup all "documents". Apparently FLA files are not considered documents for some reason as they did not get copied and I lost all my newer work, which wasn't much but that's not the point.

Sick of my old slow (wait 5 minutes to turn on) loud (the fan sounds sick(and not the good kind)) and hot(ow my thighs) laptop I got a new one.
Still trying to get used to where the pgup/pgdn/home/end/delete/backspace keys are.The arrow keys are tiny though. Windows 7 features are pretty useful, for example no annoying WPM toolbar on your start panel, you just hover over the logo and hit "next" to change song. full page previews of windows/docs are cool, it's kinda more mac-like without the annoying

And working on a title sequence in flash atm, which looks pretty good considering it's a freaking title sequence.

I have been a little inactive on DA for the past year but that will change this year.

So, I rented the game the other day, and I thought it was pretty cool.

Hoolefar was the standout for me, with all the NPC natives walking around, talking and whistling. heh. And multiple choice for conversations. Yay
Of course I picked all the humorous options.

The art side of things were enjoyable, the characters, levels, etc. Though I would have preferred more cutscene animation.

New wrench (+ light/dark) mechanics worked well, I didn't really enjoy using the weapons for some reason. Only the Predator Launcher seemed to stun/knock back enemies. Fusion Bomb was definitely my favourite of the available weapons by a long mile.

Story was ok, only major thing was the last cutscene. I'm kinda over the pirates now. Needs more ninjas. (I'm sure everyone loved the lawn ninjas + robot ninjas from the past games as much as me). I liked how Insomniac introduced the Kerchu race in ToD. I hope the next game expands on the zoni race (enemy wise) or perhaps a glance at another Lombax. HOW LONG MUST YOU KEEP US WAITING?
(Insomniac HAS to do a reveal of a lombax town with lombaxes going about their normal business. It would be SO cool. Just saying.)

So yeah, cool game. I would give it a solid 7.5/10.

By the way, does anyone else think having a wrench that upgrades via experience would be a good idea?
Or is it just me?

I have noticed that I have no arty friends, not even online.

I wouldn't mind having someone to trade critque and maybe make a collaboration or something. Or tips on improving. idk. I'm sure anything would help.
Or if anyone knows any cool clubs with random themes (I feel like im drawing the same stuff over and over...) let me know. :/
Or drawing tips. I'm no good with drawing people. I don't know how to start. And if you can draw decent people, you can draw decent cartoons. At least thats what i've gathered from what i have read around the place.

I still need to do an expression sheet for my demon.
And I might restart the 100 themes and use my demon as a central character.

I also need to make more lil demon characters. What are some tips for creating new creatures?

Great gameplay.

Just beat "Crushing" mode (and got 100%) the other day. I love this game.

One of the most interesting things about Uncharted is the enemy AI.
I dont play much shooters, but these guys get behind cover, pop out from it in everyway possible (above, side, roll, crouch, lie down) and they can even flank you. Which is crazy.
The puzzle/platform elements even flow well with the shooting.

The graphics are pretty damn amazing, in the levels that have jungle in it, it looks like a real jungle. It also has water; streams, rivers, waterfalls, oceans. Which is flawless. The main character's clothes even get wet, and eventually dry out over time.
The lighting is amazing also. Not just in cutscenes, but in regular gameplay, you have sunlight, filtering through the canopy and hitting landscape and the characters.

The story is awesome, with lots of twists along the way. Naughty Dog used motion capture for the game, which really shows in the character's natural movements.
The dialouge is funny, and NEVER cheezy. It also has great characters, my favourite being Drake's rival, Eddie.

One of the best things about this game, was when you died, you didn't think "arg not again, so annoying",
You thought "Ha! you sneaky so and so,  i'll getcha next time!"

Also, like in Ratchet & Clank, they are skill points to get ND calls them "Medal Points"
Just as fun and challenging as in R&C, they unlock bonuses.
The bonuses for Uncharted, are the best bonuses I have ever seen in a game.
There is TONS of concept and enviroment art. I havent even looked through them all yet. (At the very least 100 great quality pieces)
As well as art, Medal points unlock cheats. These include:
Skins (for Drake and enemies), weapon select, fast motion, slow motion, and even super slow motion. Oh, and unlimited ammo and one shot kills

Uncharted is the best video game I have ever played. Ever.

If you have a PS3, buy this game.

Yeah, so I bought a PS3.
There was a package deal: PS3 (40gig) + 2 controllers + Ratchet & Clank ToD.
Saving of $200 (game and extra controller)

I was in the store looking @ the deal. I had the money.
Then "Its a wonderful world" by Joey Ramone came on my mp3 player.
(It is used in the tv ad for ToD)

It was a sign O_O
I managed to get a box with pics of different games also. Including ToD Bonus.

So I bought it. And lived happily ever.

I didnt expect much when i rented "monster house" but it was a decent movie.
"Zee" is my new favourite character ever. lol. If your into animated movies and/or rock chicks, i highly recommend it

I got a new shiny new laptop and I am currently transferring my music from my PC.
Vista+WMP11 makes it real easy to name tracks and such compared with the older versions. I cant believe microsoft did something right. Only annoying this is that backspace is now alt+left. Rather troublesome.
